{"id":6445,"date":"2016-04-23T16:36:56","date_gmt":"2016-04-23T21:36:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sector67.org\/blog\/?p=6445"},"modified":"2016-04-23T16:36:56","modified_gmt":"2016-04-23T21:36:56","slug":"moments-from-the-6th-annual-build-madison-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sector67.org\/blog\/2016\/moments-from-the-6th-annual-build-madison-event\/","title":{"rendered":"Moments from the 6th Annual &#8220;Build Madison&#8221; Event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sector67 was proud to host the 6th Annual <a href=\"http:\/\/buildmadison.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Build Madison<\/a> event the weekend prior to Thanksgiving. \u00a0This event offers community members the opportunity to take action on a project they&#8217;ve been thinking about, working on (or procrastinating)\u00a0and allows participants access to all of the equipment and collaborative expertise Sector67 has to offer.<\/p>\n<a name=\"target-toc-0\"><\/a><h3>The Teams and their Projects<\/h3>\n<p>There were twelve\u00a0teams and\u00a0over 50\u00a0individuals participating in this year&#8217;s event. Participants, young and old, started Day 1 with a short presentation on their project idea and what they hoped to accomplish in the 24-hour timeframe. Others, without a team or project, attend the event to support these teams. \u00a0These individuals share their knowledge, skills, and expertise in programming, voice recognition, welding, electrical Thanks to Jim for support on this!<\/li>\n<li>added a motion detector which would count the number of revolutions of the wheel\u00a0using an integrated Arduino.<\/li>\n<li>Added an incentive for the cat to use the wheel &#8211; an Arduino-run cat-treat-dispenser which would dispense treats after a certain number of wheel revolutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Please come join this fun, community event in 2016!
