I'm looking to commission someone to build an 8x32 5 mm LED matrix on a clear PETG sub-visor.For the controls portion of this project. Options? I would love a wireless (WiFi) solution complete with iPhone app interface but I think that it would be out of my budget. Instead I'm going ANALOG. Here's what I'm thinking. In a practical sense, people will look at me *matrix will be inside a helmet* and respond with.. "That's cool!!" or "Awesome man!!" or something similar. In the same way, I want to be able to display a generic response quickly in the matrix with the usual "OK" or the like. If I see a cute lady or group of ladies, I would like to display the 3 heart shape animation space invaders etc.
In short, I want to be able to select certain animations on demand and/or have a setting where they play sequentially.
My main concerns are: How attach the LEDs without destroying the subvisor considering a HOT iron and plastic visor? Should I be concerned about light reflected back into the helmet (my eyes)?
