We are currently looking for a PhD student in materials science and engineering at Michigan Tech to focus on RepRap-related work. The position is fully funded (full tutitoin plus stipend) and you could start as early as January.

I run the Michigan Tech Open Sustainability Technology research group http://www.mse.mtu.edu/~pearce/Index.html
which specializes in solar photovoltaic technology from the materials to the devices and full systems. However, our group has also built and use several RepRaps of various flavors to do prototyping and have recently started focusing on the use of the RepRap in development work. We are interested in making technologies that drive sustainable development - open source appropriate technologies. A competitive candidate would hold a BS or Masters degree in materials science, materials engineering, chemistry, physics or a related feild, have high GPA from world class instiution, GRE Quant scores in the high 700s or 800, and TOEFL scores over 100 if you are not from an English speaking country.
