Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a local source for bentonite clay. Anyone know of a well-drilling supply shop or something that might carry it?

For anyone interested, I am building model rocket engines, the clay is good for pounding into rocket nozzles.

Thanks!

Matt

Give Paoli Clay a call. It's a pottery type clay place but he might know where to send you. (608) 845-7000
Also try Bruce Wachholz. He does pond consulting among many other things and may know a source. 608-845-7077

You can always buy kitty litter and powder it somehow.

Thanks!

I gave Paoli a call, they carry bentonite in consumer sized volumes (20 lbs). I think I'm making rocket engines this weekend!

Sounds like you found your source. The wine and hop shop on Monroe street sells much smaller quantities (for brewing, it's used as a clarifier) if you don't need much.
