Hi All, I have a number of fun projects in mind, however I'm more of a software guy. I'm looking for someone to help me build a working prototype of a radically redesigned piano keyboard. I will be a midi keyboard, i.e. it just sends note, velocity etc. midi signals out and a separate sound module does the rest. So the thing is basically a "spiral keyboard", imagine a spiral staircase flattened on a sphere, 12 steps per revolution.
I'd need help deciding what size the sphere should be, what it's made of, what the keys are made of, how they should be laid out, wiring all the switches to a microcontroller, seeing if we can pull phantom power through the midi cable instead of a battery, etc. I have a very clear idea of what it does and how it works, just need hardware help.
Email me if you're interested, or if you know someone who you think would be a good fit for this, please let them know. I can't pay a ton, but certainly enough to make it worth your while.
Thanks!
