NOTE: Tesla Coil Demonstrations are Very Impressive After Dark!!
Following Telsa Fest Notice by organizer D.C. Cox
TeslaFest 2010 & Open House (aka Midwest Cheesehead Teslathon)
will commence on Saturday, September 4th, 12 noon to 11 PM.
If you have a coil to set up please come early, like 10:30 - 11 AM to set up.
Sodas all day and food served around 4 - 7 PM.
Location will again be at Resonance Research.
Shop location is E11870 Shady Lane Rd, just 2.5 miles south and
2 miles east of Wisconsin Dells.
Admission a modest $10 --- helps cover food cost.
Tesla Fest Tee-shirts will be available.
If you are hauling in a coil or other HV device please plan on arriving
around 11 AM so you don't have to manually haul it uphill. The road will be
blocked off at 12 noon sharp as there will be too many cars to shift around,
so come a bit early. At 11 AM you can drive right in and unload.
We plan on having several solid state coils --- some running in tandem
mode), many classic Tesla coils, large 750 kV Van de Graaff, and perhaps a
Marx generator this year.
We have both 120 VAC and 240 VAC available --- up to 20 kVA max. Bring a
few 120 VAC extension cords and a thick, long ground cable to hook up to our
shop master ground. I have a 150 ft. long, 2 AWG, 220 Volt extension cord.
To plug into our receptacle you need a NEMA L6-50 plug on your power
supply. Standard welder 50 Amp elec. plug, straight blade.
Hope to see you all there! Bring your swap/trade/sell goodies also. Tables provided.
On Fri, Sept. 3rd I'm also having a gigantic "clean out the back storeroom"
giveaway. Lots of free goodies including caps, coilforms, complete wound
coils, power supplies, a few toroid with small dents, MMC caps soldered in a
holder matrix, a 75 kV DC pos power supply, and a 75 kV neg DC power supply
--- you need a truck for these as they weigh approx 315 lbs each --- in a
large oil filled tank --- nice to charge a Marx generator. About 30 neon
sign transformers --- all different currents and voltages.
This giveaway will commence around 1 PM on Fri and wrap up at 4 PM sharp,
prior to the Tesla Fest. Only on Fri as we need to lock up backroom with forklift.
Several pole xmfrs available for $150 each --- we can load with forklift on Fri only. All 10 kVA 14.4 k units.
