If anyone is interest/has the technical skills:
Adobe User Group Volunteer Project with the Restore (Habitat for Humanity):
What is it? - Adobe User Group is developing a Flash Builder Application with the Habitat for Humanity Restore of Madison to run periodic auctions.
Who is this for? - Obviously we are trying to do something great for the community (and actually this could be expanded to work at other Restores), but the main focus for our group is an opportunity for group members to either learn Adobe software or expand their current knowledge or just work for a great cause. We have both design and developer components. The design will be using Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash Catalyst and development will primarily be done in Flash Builder(Flex).
How do I volunteer?- You can sign-up by becoming a Madison Adobe User Group Member (free) and rsvp on the Volunteer event page. You can contribute as much as you want. The only requirement is that you finish what you have offered to contribute.
When do we meet? - The Adobe User Group meetings over the next 8 months or so will have a volunteer component, so that means at least once a month we will meet to get a professional overview of the technology both from a design and developer perspective and then we will meet afterwards to start planning/work for that component of the project. The volunteers will probably meet one other time a month for a few hours to keep the project going.
Why volunteer? - It is easy to contribute (only a few hours a month of time). It is a great networking opportunity. You will learn from Adobe professionals and evangelists. Not to mention, it looks great on a resume!
