I am a lowly Windows user and am experiencing a recurrent error in Windows Live Mail. Every time I log in, I get the following error message:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (user_name) account. Signing in to Windows Live ID failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.

Server Error: 0x800488EB
Server: 'http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800488EB


I am able to check my mail by logging into hotmail.com, so the problem must be in my computer. Have anyone of you experienced or heard of this error? Is there anything I can do to correct the error?

Hey Stop-Safe,

Are you still having trouble accessing hotmail via Windows Live Mail? The hotmail website and the desktop mail client use slightly different means of communicating with the email servers, so it's not completely unexpected that one works while the other is having issues.

That said, if it's still happening a few days later, it might be something on your computer that we should take a look at.

JUST GO TO OPTIOS>EMAIL ACCOUNTS>PROPERTIES OF THE EMAIL ACCOUNT >SERVER & PUT THIS SERVER ADDRESS : http//mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx

You are 3 months too late... he switched to gmail...
