Sector67 is presenting a metalworking by hand sessions designed for adult Sector67 members and non-members.  The single session class is four hours and will be held at the Sector67 space on:

  • Saturday April 8th, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

The classes are taught by Sector67 members and experienced metal workers Quincy Millerjohn and Scott Hasse.

The class cost is $40, with scholarships available.  If you are interested in a scholarship please contact  The sessions are very hands-on and participants should wear working clothes and appropriate shoes.  As a part of the class, participants will make a project that they can take home.  The classes consist of:

  • Where safety equipment lives at Sector67 and when/how to use it

  • What work areas are appropriate for metal cutting, filing and drilling activity

  • When and how to clean up your work area.

  • Metal identification and properties

  • Project layout and drilling holes in metal.

  • Cutting metal using hacksaws and coping saws, including proper blade selection, evaluating and changing blades, and saw maintenance.

  • Filing and finishing metal, including sanding and hammering techniques for various surface finishes.

This class has been developed with two primary goals in mind:

1) Empower participants with hands-on creative skills they can apply independently

2) Provide participants with a clear pathway to gaining fluency with tools, space and procedures at Sector67
