3D Printing at the Discovery Center

I had the opportunity to head over to the Discovery Center this week to check out their 3D printing facilities. They have a SLA, FDM and are looking into an SLS machine.

In the lobby of the new building are a number of cool 3d models demonstrating a variety of capabilities:

Poking around a little further into the labs reveals a full dinosaur on a print tray ready to be cleaned up:

and of course a whole pile of parts awaiting assembly:

I’ve never seen a server room without a torn apart desktop or two sitting around:
